Postural Restoration Programme (PRP) is a system of physical manipulation and movement education that is designed to restore the body to its healthiest and most efficient alignment. By lengthening and repositioning the connective tissue (muscles, tendons, ligaments, etc.). PRP works to establish changes in the body's overall structure and sculpt it in to a pain-free, and more efficient working unit.

Why do people seek PRP?
Throughout our lives, we develop habitual patterns of how we hold our bodies in space. These patterns can derive from past injuries, learned postural positions from our youth or current use of our bodies in the work force or daily physical activities.

As we age, these patterns become cemented through our fascial network (connective tissue), compromising our structure and our relationship to gravity.  This manifests as aches and pains or the inability to use our bodies comfortably.  Compromised structure can also inhibit normal processes of the body both physiologically and psychologically.

PRP  is based on some simple ideas about human structure:
- most human beings are significantly out of alignment with gravity
- we function better when we are lined up with the gravitational field of earth
- the human body is so plastic that its alignment can be brought into harmony with gravity at practically anytime of life.

"One individual may experience his losing fight with gravity as a sharp pain in the back, another as the unflattering contour of his body, another as constant fatigue, and yet another as an unrelenting threatening environment. Those over forty may call it old age; yet all these signals may be pointing to a single problem so prominent in their own structures and the structures of others that it has been ignored: they are off-balance; they are all at war with gravity."
